CANVASBACK D.A.F.

CANVASBACK is the club scow for the Spesutis Island Rod & Gun Club located on Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The club began in 1894 and operated until 1942 when the land was leased by the army for rocket testing. The last owners of the Club bought it in 1938. They were J. Pierpont Morgan, Stephen Birch, and George Whitney. Previous to finding this brand on the Stevens bird it was only seen on Holly birds. They were gunned in the club's sink box rig on the Susquehanna Flats off of the island.
