The first Kopperl Post Office was founded on September 5, 1881. This is the same year that Kopperl was founded. The postmaster was D. A. Giesler who was replaced sometime before 1896 by Rice Maxey. It is thought that the first Post Office was the home that sits just east of the Current Methodist Church and still has the slotted door that can be seen to this day.
